HDPE Pipe

HDPE pipe is a flexible thermoplastic used to design monolithic leak free pipeline systems with a life expectancy of 100 years. HDPE (high-density polyethylene) pipe has a high level of impermeability and a strong molecular bond that make it suitable for high pressure pipelines that are flexible, corrosion resistant, and impact resistant.

HDPE pipe can be bonded using several different types of thermal fusion like butt fusion, electrofusion, and socket fusion. Sandale can assist with all types of installations of HDPE pipe from slip lining, pipe bursting, and directional drilling for a range of applications listed below:

  • Municipal & Irrigation
  • Mining & Industrial
  • Marine
  • Energy
  • Landfill

Gas Distribution Pipe

Polyethylene pipe (PE) has been continually used by large gas distribution companies for their gas gathering and gas distribution pipeline systems. Gas distribution pipe is typically a specific grade of resin for either HDPE (high-density polyethylene) or MDPE (medium-density polyethylene).

Often gas gathering pipe is coloured or striped to distinguish it from other pipelines. Since PE pipe can provide a leak free pipe system it is widely used to convey natural gas in a variety of its states.

Insulated HDPE Pipe

Worldwide HDPE pipe has been used in some of the harshest environments and conditions possible. To help HDPE push its boundaries into even harsher conditions it can be externally insulated with a urethane foam to help protect a pipeline from freezing. HDPE pipe is the most common type of insulated pipe and is also the most forgiving to install because of its flexibility, abrasion resistance, and durability.

HDPE pipe insulation can come in various insulation thicknesses and outer jacket types from galvanized steel, wrapped polyethylene, or a tapped jacket. In additional to insulating HDPE pipe, an insulated pipeline can also be paired with an electrical heat trace system to design a freeze protection system that will protect a pipeline for its entire operation. Contact Sandale for any design or estimating related assistance for insulated HDPE pipe.

Profile HDPE Pipe

Profile HDPE pipe is a dual wall HDPE pipe that has been wound on a mandrell and extruded welded together to produce lightweight and highly durable profile pipe. Profile pipe can be manufactured in extremely large diameters up to 132 inches. Profile pipe can be connected in a variety of ways by extrusion welding or threading the pipe ends.

Profile pipe can be used for irrigation, hydroelectric pipe systems, storm drainage, waste water systems, and holding tanks. Profile pipe can also be custom fabricated into manifolds, vaults, and chambers to complement other HDPE pipe systems.

Corrugated HDPE Pipe

Sandale offers a comprehensive line of corrugated HDPE pipe products. The light weight bell and spigot design of corrugated HDPE Pipe has made it an ideal product for storm water collection, retention, and detention.

Corrugated HDPE pipe can also be perforated, slotted or co-extruded to have a smooth internal wall for optimal flow rates and drainage performance. Corrugated HPDE pipe is a durable and cost-effective pipe material for a range of storm water drainage applications, the most common applications for corrugated HDPE are listed below:

  • Storm Water Drainage
  • Subsurface Drainage
  • Sanitary Sewer Gravity Pipelines
  • Leachate Collection
  • Detention / Retention Storm Water Management Systems

HDPE Conduit

HDPE (high-density polyethylene) conduit is the preferred material to house and protect electrical power and telecommunications cables. It offers unmatched corrosion and chemical resistance, is flexible, durable, and available in long reel lengths to reduce joints and installation time. HDPE conduit is available in a variety of sizes, colors, dimensions, and lengths to suit any conduit installation need.

HDPE conduit is most often installed by directional drilling which minimizes construction cost and impact to the environment. Contact Sandale for any design or estimating related assistance for HDPE conduit pipe.

Dual Containment

HDPE Dual Containment piping systems are one of the most economical and reliable methods for protecting against leaks of corrosive or hazardous fluids from primary piping. HDPE Dual Containment piping systems utilizes the same features of our standard HDPE piping systems with the added feature of double containment. HDPE pipe is chemically inert, light weight, corrosion, and abrasion resistant.

Sandale Utility Products employs a simultaneous butt fusion procedure that ensures a leak proof joint. These systems are common in landfills and chemical lines where leaks are just not an option. Sandale has been designing dual containment systems with other industry partners can also assist with leak detection system for your dual containment lines.
